Buying Advice

Before buying a major piece of equipment we suggest you check up on the contractor you are considering.  Don't rely on advertising you have heard or the size of the company.  Sometimes companies that do large scale advertising are the ones you should be careful of.  While some companies spend considerable money on radio, TV and sponsorships, we rely on word of mouth and repeat business.  Here are a few independent consumer sites you might want to take a look at.

Kudzu

www.kudzu.com

Kudzu shows customer reports about companies.  Companies pay to be listed under a heading (like the yellow pages).  For companies that choose not to pay the $500 - $2,000 a month cost to be listed (like us), simply enter the company name and view info about the company.

Better Business Bureau

www.atlanta.bbb.org

The BBB lists company complaints for the previous 3 year period.   Some local a/c companies have 5 or 10 complaints, some even more than that.  A good company should have no complaints at all.  In our 30 years of service Spencer has never had a complaint.  Our BBB rating is A+ (the highest possible).

Angie's List

This is a service that homeowners subscribe to that shows actual customer reports and reviews about companies.  Angie's List then gives a rating for the company.  Spencer Heating and Air Conditioning consistently rates an 'A' (the highest rating), and is the recipient of their top award, the "Super Service Award".
